and alex demetrick has more on how maryland is preparing and tim williams and marty bass are tracking earl. tim? >> this thing is still a monster storm and a category 4- rbgs consider add major storm, a major huncht anything category 3 and above is considered major. let's give you an update from the national hurricane center. earl is moving at 18 miles an hour. the storm has sustained winds of 3 -- 138 miles an hour, 200 miles from the center. as it moves on by, it is expected to generate some more watches and warnings, but still a category 2 as it moves past hour latitude. marty will talk about this and the plot in just a moment. what we're talking about, a hurricane watch is in effect for suffolk county and accally mat county, virginia, the pink and coastal flood advisories that we are not as concerned about, but we're talking about them because there will ab water buildup in the bay that will be short lived and moved out as the storm moves on past. for more on the timing of this with a bit of a close-up look and the plot we send it out to marty. >>> there's been a bit of a speedup
